# Parent Portal Configuration

Parents can set/change the following information from their Account Settings:

- Display Name
- Username (a unique username must be used)
- Password
- Photo
- Preferred Language
- Contact opt-in/out-out preferences (email and phone)
- Email (it can only be changed by parents if a school allows this in the [web district configuration options](https://help.schoolwise.com/docs/web-configuration-settings#allow-parents-to-directly-change-their-own-email-address))
