Configure Alerts

Initial Setup Tips:

1) Review and update your district settings.

2) Edit the practice mode settings to add your contact info and then conduct a test alert.

3) Turn the practice mode off when you are ready to send real alerts.

Clicking on the Configure Alerts button brings up the form shown below for performing one-time initial set-up tasks.

Caller ID is the phone number that will display during calls, such as your school's main number. Please note that even though the calls are made from an automated phone dialinig server and not directly from your school's phone system, calls still must display a phone number for caller ID.

Short Sender Name must be 16 characters or less indicating the name of your school district.

Sender Return Email Address is the return email address that displays in the automated emails.

Default Time to Send Alerts is the default time to send the messages.  The time can be freely adjusted in every individual alert, but this menu is where you set the default time.

Practice Mode Settings is where you control Practice Mode, which allows you to test the system by setting the receiving phone number and email address to one of yours.

Enable Practice Mode For This District turns on Practice Mode.

Practice Language will send the practice call out in the language specified.

Practice Phone Number specifies the phone number to be called for the practice call.  No numbers other than this one will be called when in practice mode.

Practice Email Address specifies the email address to be sent to for the practice call.  No email addresses other than this one will be accessed when in practice mode.

Pressing the Save button saves your settings.

As seen below, alerts can be set as One Time, Recurring, or email only from the Email Newsletters tab.
