Parent Web Portal Accounts

Parent Web Portal Overview

  • A parent portal web account can be created for each in-household parent (User Type P) and/or each out-of-household parent/contact (User Type M).
  • Web accounts for in-household parents (User Type P) are automatically linked to all students in the family by FamID. In-household parents are identified with a blue dot beside their name in the Desktop SIS. Click here for more details. 
  • Web accounts for out-of-household parents or contacts (User Type M) are explicitly linked to specific students. Click here for instructions to link additional students.

Parent Web Portal Access

Has a parent/guardian already created a web account? If yes, they can then login. If not, they need to create a web account before they can login. See below for instructions to Create Web Account.

Has a parent/guardian already created a web account but have forgotten their username and/or password? 

  • A school administrator can determine the status of all web accounts. Click here for instructions.
  • A school administrator (with appropriate privileges) can retrieve forgotten usernames or/and passwords and provide the web account username and/or password to the parent/guardian.  Click here for instructions. 
  • If a web portal user has forgotten their web account password, they can submit a password reset request by clicking on the forgot password link below the password field in the user login screen. If the email address they entered matches your SIS records, a password reset link for the web user account will be sent to that email. Click here for instructions.

Create Web Account

Open a modern internet browser (Chrome, Edge, FireFox, Safari, etc.) and navigate to the URL assigned to your school for SchoolWise Web access. It would look like this: YourSchool.schoolwise.com where "YourSchool" will be unique to your school. Do not try to connect to YourSchool.schoolwise.com. “YourSchool” is a subdomain prefix assigned by SchoolWise for your specific school district or charter school. Do not add the www prefix to your school subdomain as the SSL certificate will flag it as a security problem since www.YourSchool.schoolwise.com is not the same address as YourSchool.schoolwise.com.

Click on the 'Parent Signup' link on the left side of the screen, then select the best option to create a web user account. The 'Signup Help' link on the left side of the screen provides detailed help information to aid a parent/guardian/contact in creating a web account.  

Option A or Option B can only be used by an existing parent (a parent who has or had a child enrolled in your school).

Option C should only be used by a new parent (a parent who has never had any children enrolled in your school). Option C should never be used by an existing parent (a parent who has or had a child enrolled in your school). An existing parent should only choose option A or B.

Create Web Account - Option A (Existing Parent)

If a parent don't have a Parent Activation Code, they can request one. If they pass the SIS verification check (by entering the parent name, parent email, child name, and child DOB), an automated email will be sent to the parent's email with their activation code and link to create their web account.

Create Web Account - Option B (Existing Parent)

If a parent already has a Parent Activation Code, it can be entered to create their web account.

Create Web Account - Option C (New Parent)

Option C is only shown if this optional feature has been enabled and Online Registration New Parent/Student Enrollment Application packets have been published. 

A new parent (a parent who has never had any children enrolled in your school) can create a restricted parent web user account that only has access to the new parent information packet and student enrollment application packet. A restricted parent web user account is created using an email (no SIS verification or school admin approval or access code is required).
